BIO

Thomas A. Madden serves as Of Counsel to Daley Orton and focuses his practice on personal injury litigation. Over the course of more than thirteen years, Tom has represented individuals in a wide range of matters in both Rhode Island state and federal courts, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability cases, product liability claims, medical malpractice actions, wrongful death cases, and insurance bad faith disputes.

Tom is a seasoned and highly prepared litigator who approaches each case with discipline, strategy, and a strong sense of accountability. He is admitted to practice before all Rhode Island state courts as well as the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island, and his experience across multiple forums allows him to navigate complex procedural and evidentiary issues with confidence.

A defining aspect of Tom’s practice is his deep understanding of the insurance industry. Earlier in his career, he worked for a major insurance company, giving him firsthand insight into how insurers evaluate, defend, and negotiate injury claims. That perspective informs every case he handles, allowing him to anticipate defenses, identify pressure points, and build claims that are thoroughly documented, properly valued, and positioned for meaningful recovery. Whether resolving a case through negotiation or pursuing litigation, Tom works tirelessly to achieve the best possible result for his clients.

Tom earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in 2008. Prior to law school, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island, an academic background that continues to inform his practical, analytical approach to case evaluation and strategy. He remains actively engaged in the legal community as a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association and the Rhode Island Association for Justice, and he also serves as an arbitrator for the Rhode Island Court Annexed Arbitration Program.

Outside of his legal practice, Tom values time with his family and enjoys spending time with his wife and two teenage children.
