Over $35 Million Recovered for Clients in Serious Injury and Complex Litigation Cases
$12 Million – Insurance Bad Faith
Kevin represented a small business owner whose principal office was catastrophically damaged as a result of home heating oil being mistakenly dumped into its basement. Kevin’s client made a claim under a business owner’s policy that it had purchased, and the insurance carrier fraudulently denied the claim. A lawsuit was brought against the insurance carrier and after multiple years of litigation, recovery was made in the amount of $2,047,000 for the damages owed under the insurance contract and $10,000,000.00 for the insurance carriers’ bad faith, for a total recovery of Twelve Million Forty-Seven Thousand Dollars ($12,047,000.00).
$3.25 Million – Construction Accident
Kevin represented a construction worker who sustained serious injuries when he fell nearly sixty feet off a scaffold. His injuries included multiple broken bones and a mild/moderate head injury. The worker recovered from most of the physical injuries but he continued to be affected by the head injury, preventing him from working on a full-time basis. Shortly after the trial began, the defense agreed to settle the case for Three Million Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($3,250,000.00).
$3 Million – Motorcycle Accident
Kevin represented the estate of a twenty-nine-year-old motorcyclist who was struck by a car at the top of a bridge. The motorcycle driver was catapulted off the bike and plunged over the bridge nearly 50 feet to his death. After three years of litigation, the case was settled for Three Million Dollars ($3,000,000.00).
$2.75 Million – Medical Negligence
Kevin represented an eighty-two-year-old woman who suffered a neurologic injury as a result of medical negligence. After two years of litigation, the defendant agreed to a settlement in the amount of Two Million Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($2,750,000.00).
$2.35 Million – Auto Accident / Insurance Bad Faith
Kevin represented a 55-year-old man who injured his back in an automobile accident. The injuries were permanent and resulted in him being permanently disabled from his work as a general contractor. Kevin was able to recover the policy limits of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($ 250,000.00) from the individual that caused the accident and then made a claim against the client’s own insurance company for underinsured motorist coverage. The insurance carrier wrongfully denied the claim, and Kevin sued the insurance company for (among other things) its bad faith in doing so. Kevin was able to recover an additional Two Million One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($ 2,100,000.00) for a total recovery of Two Million Three Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($ 2,350,000.00).
$2.25 Million – Fall Injury
Kevin represented a 77-year-old man who sustained a serious leg fracture after falling out of a wheelchair. Shortly after the commencement of the trial, Kevin was able to secure a settlement for his client in the amount of Two Million Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($2,250,000.00).
$850 Thousand – Auto Accident
Kevin represented a 70-year-old man who was involved in a high-speed automobile collision, causing injuries to the man’s head, neck and lower back. Kevin was able to secure the full policy limit of $100,000 from the insurance carrier for the other driver and then secured an additional $750,000 from his clients underinsured motorist carrier, for a total recovery of Eight Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars and 00/100 ($850,000.00).
$250 Thousand – Motorcycle Accident
Kevin represented a 50-year-old man who was involved in a motorcycle accident, resulting in a broken ankle. Kevin was able to secure the full policy limits of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars and 00/100 ($250,000.00) from the insurance carrier for the party that caused the accident.
